Frustration to the Max!

I have had a very hard time with posting on blackboard in this class. I have not been able to post comments until today so I have had to correspond with my group through email. I am now using a computer at my school to do these postings and other assignments. I bought a brand new computer at Christmas because I knew I was going to take this class because my old one is a dinosaur of a computer. It had no memory left and would constantly freeze up and I would lose documents. My new computer will not load the blackboard posting page correctly. I spent an hour talking with Geek Squad and they didn't know how to help me. I am taking my computer in to see what they can find out. Because of these issues I feel even less confident than ever with technology. I feel that maybe I should not be in an online class as I have had problems from day one. So as you can see I am totally frustrated!

I have enjoyed learning more about computers and other technologies that are out there. I have been amazed at all the things that other teachers use and what other schools have for teachers and students. There are so many tools that are available and I was not aware of them. I guess I have been living in a bubble. I hope to learn more about using these things so I can utilize technology more efficiently in providing the best possible learning experiences for my students. I hope that as I grow in my knowledge about technology that I will become more confident and less afraid and can apply many of the tools in my classroom.

Don't get too frustrated. You're doing great and things will continue to get easier, especially when your computer issues are solved. Great job!!!

Janet, have you figured out your computer problem yet? My husband fixes computers on the side and he is great at it! I am sure he would enjoy helping you with yours if the Geek Squad couldn't. My husband has even fixed my brother's laptop that couldn't even turn on. Geek Squad said it was trash, but my husband got it to work. That's the laptop that was donated to me over the Christmas holidays from my family. PLEASE let me know if you need my husband's assistance.

Janet, You are doing a great job. I am certain that we will get these issues resolved and we will both get on the right track. I have concerns about being in an online class, as well. Maybe I should have enrolled in a class where we met every week and had a teacher and the other students helping me one on one. WE will both continue to get this thing figured out!
